Constant cold water reduces the need for maintenance and sanitizer use, as it inhibits bacterial growth. Setting the chiller on a timer is not recommended due to minimal cost savings and increased wear on the pump, which can lead to failure.

Ensure the chiller is placed within 3 feet of the tub's drain and at the same or lower elevation to facilitate water movement without requiring the pump to self-prime, as it cannot. Avoid long tubing runs to prevent inadequate water flow and potential pump failure.
